This policy explains what we collect when you use BlackWell’s website and products, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Your account: the owner’s and managers’ names, email addresses, phone numbers and passwords (stored only as a one-way hash), and passkeys if you add them.
- Your business records: everything you put into a product, such as sales, services, staff, bookings, customers and their phone numbers, money and stock. You own these records; we hold them on your behalf.
- Devices: the devices you link, so we can let them in and show you which ones are active.
- Payments to us: invoices, transaction IDs and the receipts you send us.
- The website: basic, anonymous visit counts. We don’t use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To run the product for you and keep your devices in step with each other.
- To bill you and confirm your payments.
- To help you when you contact us.
- To keep BlackWell secure, for example by spotting sign-ins that don’t look right.
We never sell your data, and we never use your customers’ details to contact them ourselves.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that help us run BlackWell, such as our hosting provider, and only as much as they need. If the law requires it, we may have to share information with the authorities in Pakistan.
Where it’s kept and for how long
Your records are kept on secure servers and backed up every day in encrypted form. Each business can only ever see its own records. We keep your records for as long as your account exists, including when it’s unpaid, so that you never lose them.
Your choices
- You can see, correct and download your business records at any time.
- You can ask us to close your account and delete your data. Contact us from the owner’s phone number and we’ll confirm it with you first.
- Your customers can ask you, or us, to remove their details from your records.
